Vtg 1930 3D Tru-Vue Union Case w Viewer +12 California Red White Box Stereoviews___________________________________________ I have collected 3D photo memorabilia for 30+ years and it’s time that I let some of my prized collectibles go. This is a vintage Tru-Vue viewer with 12 Films in their original embossed Floral library case. Not only is the 3D effects in the film incredible, but the condition of the Tru-Vue films & boxes are also in incredible condition! The Union Library Case:This is a vintage Tru Vue viewer with 12 Films in their original embossed library case. This case is referred to as the Union case because of the embossed union logo. It is a great find and the 3D effect in the films is incredible! The brown library case measures about 5″ wide x 7″ long x 2-3/4″ tall. The box is in good condition – the lid does have some wear but is still very secure, as shown in my photos. The films and viewer fit perfectly inside. The Tru-Vue Viewer:The viewer is one of the finest that Tru Vue made. It is made of black bakelight with a red imprinted Tru-Vue logo. The advance lever works perfectly. It has no cracks, chips or scratches and the lenses are clean and clear. All 12 Tru-Vue Film Reels:All 12 film reels have all been checked frame by frame with white gloves on with every frame and every film cog checked. All are guaranteed perfect; and all boxes have the correct films inside – This is something I have not found to be true on many of the sets I have bought on ebay. Anyone interested in California History would love these! I would suggest when viewing these rare films (and all other Tru-Vue films), to pull them slowly through the viewer rather than using the advance lever. This is how the cogs get torn. All 12 Tru-Vue Red & White Film Boxes:All of the scarce Red and White boxes are in excellent condition with just slight shelf wear as can be seen in my photos. All have all box flaps and films are all in their correct boxes – not bad for little boxes that are 70 years old! Both sides of the boxes are shown in my photos. One box (Blondie) has some Christmas gift wrap on it, an another (Smokey Stover) has an original price tag; The two Yellowstone boxes have some spotting on the top side as shown. None have any splits, missing flaps, or crush marks. Although the 3D Stereo Filmstrip format was not brand new, (see Novelview, here at the 3Dstereo eMarket) their marketing and choice of titles made them a smashing success, bringing sepiatone 3D Stereo Filmstrips into the homes across America. The original views were initially made with a 5″x7″ Stereo Graflex camera and mounted as black and white prints, then copied onto 35mm transparency film. Each filmstrip usually contains 14 stereo pairs. Some 17 years later, after competing for 11 years against the color 3D Stereo reels of View-Master®, Tru-Vue tried their hand at color too, but was soon purchased by their competitor, View-Master, who needed the lucrative Disney licenses that Tru-Vue had obtained.
